Visit fee policy

Starting from April 13, 2026, a NEW VISIT FEE POLICY will come into effect at the Läänemere Hambakliinik.

At Läänemere Dental Clinic, a visit fee of €15 applies to all visits that are not related to Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) financing.

The visit fee is payable for each visit, regardless of whether additional services (e.g. procedures or consultations) are provided during the visit or not.

Läänemere Dental Clinic reserves the right, on a case-by-case basis, not to apply the visit fee, taking into account the specific circumstances of the visit.

Principles of visit fee for visits related to Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) financing:

At Läänemere Dental Clinic, the principles for applying a visit fee for visits related to Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) financing are established in accordance with the Estonian Health Insurance Act.

The visit fee for visits related to Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) financing is €15.

The visit fee for visits related to Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) financing is €5 if the service is provided to an insured person who is:

      • under 19 years of age;
      • pregnant;
      • a mother of a child under one year of age;
      • over 63 years of age;
      • a recipient of a disability pension or old-age pension under the State Pension Insurance Act;
      • assessed as having partial or no work ability under the Work Ability Allowance Act;
      • unemployed within the meaning of the Labor Market Measures Act;
      • a recipient of subsistence benefits under the Social Welfare Act, or a member of their family, if subsistence benefits have been paid to the person or their family in the month of provision of outpatient specialist care or during the two preceding months.

The visit fee applies to all services provided at Läänemere Dental Clinic under the Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) contract, including:

    • dental care for children (dental care for persons under 19 years of age);
    • Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) adult dental care benefit
    • Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) prosthetic treatment benefit
    • emergency dental care for adults;
    • lifetime dental care benefit;
    • orthodontic treatment for children (orthodontics for persons under 19 years of age).

For visits related to Estonian Health Insurance Fund (Tervisekassa) financing, the visit fee is not charged in the following cases:

    • when the patient is referred within Läänemere Dental Clinic to another doctor or a specialist equivalent to a healthcare professional;
    • when the patient is referred to Läänemere Dental Clinic by a healthcare professional of the same specialty from another institution (e.g. referral by a dentist from another institution to a dentist at Läänemere Dental Clinic) – a referral document or a documented referral in the medical records is required;
    • for a repeat visit within 365 days, if the doctor or a specialist equivalent to a healthcare professional has placed the patient under their follow-up or treatment.

If the patient fails to attend the agreed appointment time or cancels their booked appointment less than 24 hours before the start of the visit or procedure, the healthcare provider has the right to charge the patient a visit fee in double amount at the next visit (Estonian Health Insurance Act, § 70(6)).
